Chamber of Commerce (USHCC): the 25th Annual National Convention and Business
Expo, September 15-18, 2004, in Austin, Texas. Known as the largest networking
event for Hispanic business leaders and chamber executives in the country, this
year’s convention will celebrate 25 years of Hispanic entrepreneurship and its
impact on our nation’s economy.
Serving as this year’s Honorary Co-Chairs are Gary Cowger, President of GM North
America, and J. Terrence (“Terry”) Lanni, Chairman of the Board and Chief
Executive Officer of MGM MIRAGE. The Convention Host Chair is Massey Villarreal,
USHCC Region III Board Member and President and CEO of Precision Task Group (PTG)
in Houston, Texas.
Chamber executives, Fortune 500 business leaders and Hispanic elected officials
will convene in Austin, Texas for four days of networking, discussion and
information gathering. Through a series of business sessions, workshops and
forums, participants will learn about some of the most critical concerns facing
Hispanic business entrepreneurs today, such as how to gain access to contract
opportunities and expand their business. Convention participants will also
connect with corporate and government buyers, explore franchising opportunities,
meet corporate and government recruiters, and learn from leading business
experts about current economic business trends
Together with the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Texas
Association of Mexican Americans Chamber of Commerce (TAMACC), the USHCC
convention promises to be a valuable opportunity for growth and expansion.
The convention will include a two-day Expo, where attendees and the public will
enjoy visiting more than 200 exhibitors comprised of major corporations,
Hispanic and international enterprises, government agencies and educational
institutions. The Expo will also feature a Youth & Career Pavilion that offers
prospective job seekers an inside track on career choices for the future.
