United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
In 1979, a few dedicated Hispanic leaders realized the enormous potential of the Hispanic business community in the United States and envisioned the need for a national organization to represent its interests before the public and private sectors. Later that year, the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) was incorporated in the state of New Mexico, creating a structured organization aimed at developing a business network that would provide the Hispanic community with cohesion and strength. Since its inception, the USHCC has worked towards bringing the issues and concerns of the nation's more than 1 million Hispanic-owned businesses to the forefront of the national economic agenda. Throughout the years, the Chamber has enjoyed outstanding working relationships with international Heads of State. Also, through the network of nearly 200 Hispanic Chambers of Commerce and Hispanic business organizations, the USHCC has effectively communicated the needs and potential of Hispanic Enterprise to the U.S. Government and Corporate America.

VISION
Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will be a leader of local efforts to strengthen our business climate, promote educational excellence and foster business growth and opportunities.
History
In July of 1973, 25 committed Hispanic Austinites spearheaded an effort to incorporate a Chamber of Commerce that understood the needs of the Mexican American community of Austin. The Mexican-American Chamber of Commerce of Travis County (MACC) was the result of these efforts. MACC developed several primary goals it felt would aid the Mexican-American business community. The first goal was to develop basic business and management skills. Secondly, MACC wanted to develop the increased use and control of financial capital by the Mexican-American community. Furthermore, it wanted to infuse humanistic and cultural values into all aspects of business practices.
In June of 1999, HCC officially became Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GAHCC). This allowed the Chamber to encompass the entire Hispanic business community living and doing business in the Austin metropolitan area.
Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce represents a broad array of organizations. Currently, the Chamber has approximately 700 active members representing corporations, small businesses, individuals, non-profit agencies, business associates and governmental agencies. The Chamber is led by a 20 member volunteer Board of Directors who serve the membership through various professional programs and committees. The Committees include, Economic Development, Membership, Marketing, Advocacy/Legislative, International Trade, Education, Finance/Audit and Leadership (Hispanic Austin Leadership, HAL). GAHCC has several departments that assist its membership. The Economic Development department offers business development programs (e.g. SBA loan application packages). Educational courses are offered to enhance entrepreneurship, small business planning, access credit and financial accountability. The Tourism and Convention Services (TC) component assists conventioneers and tourists planning to visit Austin for business and for pleasure travel. TC works hand in hand with Austin's hospitality industry to increase hotel/motel tax revenues for the City of Austin. Business and Membership Services is a department that works closely with all the membership to ensure that they receive information and access to suppliers/vendors. The GAHCC's Community Liaison works as a resource person who plans and implements all special events for the GAHCC.
Over the past 28 years GAHCC strategic initiatives have changed to keep up with the changing economics of the Austin Metro area. GAHCC's role will always be helping businesses through the increased participation of the Hispanic community. GAHCC continues its leadership role in the community by partnering with city, county, state and national leaders to implement projects and programs that promote the "New Diverse Majority," in which the growing Hispanic population will play a major role.

EZCertify is dedicated to assisting women, minority, handicapped and other qualified individuals to successfully apply for and receive certification in the Small Business Administrations 8(a) Business Development and Small, Disadvantaged Business Programs.
![]()
The principals and associates of EZCertify.com are intimately familiar with the 8(a)BD and SDB certification processes. They have been successful 8(a)BD and SDB business owners and executives. Also on staff are former SBA officials who were directly responsible for reviewing and approving or rejecting 8(a)BD application packages. EZCertify.com also retains lawyers who specialize in minority business enterprises and who are expert in the nuances of the SBA certification processes.
Together, the EZCertify.com team has more than 100 years of relevant experience in the area of small and disadvantaged business.
Our entire team at EZCertify.com is of the single mind that the 8(a)BD and the new SDB certification processes are very complex, are fraught with the likelihood of "application rejection" for merely technical reasons, and tend to intimidate rather than attract otherwise qualified small businesses to one or both of these important, potentially lucrative SBA programs.
The application package and required attachments for both of these programs present a daunting challenge. To help potential applicants, EZCertify.com has taken a "TurboTax*-like" approach to a cumbersome, time-consuming, often confusing process. Users of the EZCertify.com CD-ROM software are encouraged to engage initially in a FREE structured interview, which breaks down the application completion process into its basic elements.

TurboTax is a registered trademark of Intuit, Inc.
EZCertify.com is not a product of Intuit, Inc.
For those users who elect to attack the forms without the benefit of the structured interview, EZCertify.com will soon be simplifying this process as well. For example, the requisite forms are available from us in a format that permits their completion on your own PC. That means you dont have to print out, copy and finally type or hand-write your responses to hundreds of questions. (By the way, do you even still own a typewriter? Know where it is?). We by-pass the need for you to fill out the often ambiguous forms themselves. EZCertify.com's software does this for you.
The professionals at EZCertify.com know from experience that not everyone who desires to apply for 8(a)BD or SDB certification is qualified to participate because of the stringent regulations that govern these programs. The regulations are lengthy, complex and leave large areas open to subjective interpretation. Because of this, EZCertify has developed a quick, easy and inexpensive test that is based on years of observing and analyzing why 8(a)BD and SDB applicants fail to be certified. This pre-qualifying test is in the form of a concise interview, because we dont want to waste your time, energy or money if you stand little chance of being certified for either or both of the SBA programs. Its better to learn this sooner rather than later, after youve expended months of effort, thousands of dollars and lots of psychic energy on a futile quest.
We at EZCertify.com also know that no two 8(a)BD or SDB applicants are alike. Each applicant and their business concern is unique, and may not (in rare cases) fit the mold of EZCertify.coms software. To help these types of companies and individuals, we provide a fast, easily accessible and inexpensive means by which you can receive expert answers to what may be a unique or particularly troublesome question.
In such circumstances, applicants may email one or more questions to EZCertify.com for a considered response. We will respond to you, either by telephone or return email, within 24 hours. Although EZCertify.com does not purport to provide legal advice or assistance, we will upon request refer you to a number of distinguished law firms that specialize in small and disadvantaged business issues. However, our own experience has exposed us to thousands of applications and situations that provide the answers that likely would correspond to your own situation.
The EZCertify.com team is pleased to see that women and other non-minority individuals who can claim social and economic disadvantage are now encouraged to apply for both the 8(a)BD and SDB Programs. Its about time! However, we also recognize that while this "invitation" might have been sent, accessing these programs remains such an arduous task that many are likely to avoid the process because the burden of proving social and economic disadvantage is still far too onerous.
That is precisely why the EZCertify.com method includes tips, examples, definitions and cautions to assist all applicants. Women, handicapped and other non-minority individuals who are socially and economically disadvantaged now can tell their story in a compelling way that meets the strict standards found in the SBA regulations.
In brief, EZCertify.coms mission is to assist every qualified small business in America to seek and secure 8(a)BD and/or SDB certification for the smallest time, energy and financial investment as possible.
