Technology Center

El Buen Pastor Early Childhood Development Center is located in East Austin at 1206 Willow Street.  The  center was established and founded by El Buen Pastor Presbyterian Church in  1975.  El Buen Pastor Early Childhood Development Center is now a self-supporting 501(c)3 non-profit corportation and was accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children(NAEYC) in 1991 and in 1995.  El Buen Pastor ECDC is currently applying for NAEYC accreditation for the 2000-2001 school year.  El Buen Pastor ECDC  is a Childcare Management Services(CCMS) four star vendor of the Texas Migrant Council and is licensed by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services.

El Buen Pastor Early Childhood Development Center is managed by a tri-ethnic board of directors.  Since 1975, the executive director of El Buen Pastor Early Childhood Development Center has been Linda M. Ruiz-Campos. The center's staff consists of four teachers, one teacher's aide, a secretary, a grant writer, a cook and a custodian. 

The center is open monday through friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The center has an enrollment of 62 children ages two through twelve.  Pre-school children from the ages of two through four are taught by certifiedlead teachers. Nutritious hot lunches are provided for children enrolled at El Buen Pastor ECDC.  An afternoonsnack is also served to all children.  El Buen Pastor provides an afterschool program for children who attend public schools.  Afterschool care is available for children who attend Metz and Sanchez Elementary Schools in the Austin Independent School District.  The hours for afterschool program  are from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
